going gray
Nobody is expected or has an ability to look young forever unless she was Elizabeth Taylor or Titiek Puspa. How freaked out I was when I found a group of gray hair in a specific, particular spot: above my right ear. You read it right; not one or two, but a GROUP of gray hair, and the number has increased ever since.
Funny how as a (relatively) young person I always think of life, seeing how some friends got married and have kids, some have gone abroad and back again, some quitted job and opened a boutique. In short: life does change. But so far I haven't found any evidence of gray hair or wrinkled skin on them and I never really thought that sooner or later our appearance may also change.
So in this pre-30s life (wait, what???) I think I better be prepared, for a few years from now my cutout profile will probably look like this:

Do I look like an X-Men character?

1924
It's been years since the last exciting visit to a historical-architecture-themed exhibition, driven by a curiosity to see new things. It's been years since the last reading about a red-blue-yellow painting, how the painting was a product of an artistic movement, how Mr. Rietveld methodically designed a chair in 1917 and a house in 1924 accordingly. It's been years since all of those things amused my younger self. I don't know which one is more surprising: the fact that it's been years, or the fact that it was very very truthfully amusing.

Bank Indonesia Kota Solo - revisited
So last week I went back to this spot, a spot I visited almost four years ago, a spot that I can only reach on certain occasions, if not opportunities. I always wanted to do a revisited-sketch and I guess this is my first.
I was also planning to do a revisited-sketch for Perusahaan Roti Orion but it was already almost dark and the snack shop now looks like this:
Those trees sure are growing.........it's been almost four years. Damn.

on secrets
Discourse transmits and produces power; it reinforces it, but also undermines and exposes it, renders it fragile and makes it possible to thwart it. In like manner, silence and secrecy are a shelter for power, anchoring its prohibitions, but they also loosen its holds and provide for relatively obscure areas of tolerance.

Secrets sucks.

Secrets have a cost. They're not free. Not now, not ever.
