extraordinary

'Extraordinary' is the perfect word to describe my recent days, as the days were really 'out of my ordinary days'. I did things I haven't done before: wrote a song about ozone with a friend, recorded it - manually haha, put the notes on a partiture [my part was the NOT BALOK (!) - so this is strange because we recognize 2 kind of notes writting in Indonesia: not balok (the usual partiture with tauge hahaha) and not angka which the international world doesn't know] then brought the files [CDs, partitures] to the State Ministry of Environment's building. So this is what I did:

I can't believe I did that. I was at my desk the whole night with pencil and papers -- things I seriously haven't done in my life; not even for studying hahahahaha.

tiada pernah

Just watched Chicken Little last night, and I think it's a good movie *grin* and it contains many 90s songs haha.
d
There's a character named Runt, an extremely big pig who's always nervous and very easily got panic attack. The interesting thing is, Runt likes to sing and also easily motivated by a song. So whenever he's in panic, he will sing. For example, on the scene when Runt and friends are running from the aliens, Runt keep singing 'staying alive, staying alive..'. On another chasing scene, Chicken Little should say something that is very close to the song 'I will survive' to stimulate Runt.
d
This somehow reminds me to a college friend named Fiqi who really likes to sing. I mean, really. Although Runt and Fiqi don't share the same body shape, they both are singing. Fiqi was once infamously nicknamed saiful jamil by another friend, Berlian because he always continue a sentence with a song; just like saiful jamil *lol*
d
One song that I'll never forget, was the theme song of Architectural Design Studio 3: Biru, made popular by Vina Panduwinata. The actual verse of the song is:

Tiada pernah aku bahagia
Sebahagia kini oh kasih
Sepertinya kubermimpi
Dan hampir tak percaya
Hadapi kenyataan ini
d
But me and some friends, including Fiqi, Mussa, Berlian and few others always sing the song like this:
d
Tiada pernah aku bahagia..
d
... and the song stopped.
Few minutes later, we began singing again:
d
Tiada pernah aku bahagia..
d
... and the song stopped again. At the end of the studio, we never finished the song at all. Hahahahaha... Until this day, I can't help myself from laughing each time I remember the song and realizing how pathetic we were *rotfl*

get to know yourself better

I took this quiz reccomended by Ratna. Well, I supposed to post this on facebook but I'm not really into it hehe.
d
Your view on yourself: Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for: --bah.. let's just skip these things

Your views on education: You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you: You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.
d
How do you view success: You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.
d
What are you most afraid of: You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self: You like privacy very much because you enjoy spending time with your own thoughts. You like to disappear when you cannot find solutions to your own problems, but you would feel better if you learned to share your thoughts with a person you trust.
d
Hmm.. Is it true or not? You tell me.

cassette

Just yesterday I saw this sleeve at aksara citos bookstore and thought it's really cool, unexpectedly I found it in the internet. Found here.

I don't know what's happening in pop-creative-industry nowadays, but yesterday, the bookstore was so 90s. Cassette-shaped products and cassette [or other 90s] themed books were most exhibited. For me, it's another remembering. When I was in school, cassettes were the only source to music since I didn't like to watch TV or radio [until now]. Monthly I bought cassettes. The first place to search if I went to any malls were music store. It's few years ago. I can't recall when was the last time I went to a music store and really enjoyed browsing on cassettes. I don't even have any cassette player in my own bedroom now and I don't know how to play my old cassettes because I am surely not sharing the songs I listen to with my parents and brothers.

i don't care

sneak into website

I was opening Coraline movie’s website to button my eyes *grin* but the page didn’t load perfectly. It always stopped at 66%. So I tried to cheat by adding ‘home’ or ‘other_mother’ after ‘www.coraline.com’. And guess what appeared on my screen?

Hahahahahahaha *rotfl* hilarious isn’t it? Uhm. Very well. Apologize, Mr. Bobinsky :D

on childhood

A week after King of Pop's death, the internet keep updating the news. TV keep showing the old video clips and the radio keep playing the old songs. I don't want to be in the histeria of this situation like anyone else; at least like what I see - people mourning, lighting candles or memorizing MJ etc. But unfortunatelly [or fortunatelly?] this dead guy was part of my childhood. Well, big part.

I'm not and never be a big fan of MJ, but somehow his songs and videos are things I grew up with. I was in early elementary school when every kids sang Heal the World and liking Black or White clip, realizing "it's the Home Alone kid on the video!". I remember wondering MJ's changing face.

I guess, it's not about the person. It's the era and chains of events. It wouldn't be the same if David Copperfield wasn't that popular those days, and the rise of Spice Girls, and Space Jam movie, Super Mario Bros nintendo game. The general timeline that people in my age experienced. On the most personal timeline: how boys trying to play guitar and how I became the coolest girl for playing guitar haha. And other things.

I always have some MJ's songs in my playlist; not to mention other 90s songs, just because it's fun. There's a joy of bringing the old days back to my life; and I believe in your life as well.

It explains why a generation of people keep listening to Guns n Roses, and another generation to Beatles. Or watching Doraemon and collecting Lego. It's something they grew up with. In some senses, we don't want to loose our childhood, do we?

congratulating rizki

I'd like to congratulate rizki who had successfully done her final thesis presentation yesterday. You finally made it after all those uncertain and [lately] nervous hours! haha.. It was such a unique experience for me for being the only 'supporter' in your really unusual presentation atmosphere heeee.. Trully in one moment I felt that I shouldn't have been there in the multimedia room. Hmpf. The weirdest thing was I felt nervous as well +_+
d
Congratulation again! Happy joining us in the all-decisions-are-yours--decide-yourself-what-you-want-to-be world. Ha ha ha.

cigarettes and chocolate milk

Another song poissoning. A friend reccomended this Rufus Wainwright's song, and it's really addictive O_o I like the chords' progression :)

"Cigarettes and chocolate milk; these are just a couple of my cravings. Everything it seems i like's a little bit stronger, a little bit thicker, a little bit harmful for me"
